Teignmouth, Antiphon and Snakeskin
Just a quick update to say three lots of thanks. Firstly, thanks are due to Poetry Teignmouth, not only for making me one of their featured poets, but also for staging an excellent and hugely enjoyable festival in March. Stand-out memories for me include: the pleasure of working with other poets and artists on the exhibition ‘Lost & Found’; workshops with Greta Stoddart and the new Scottish Makar, Jackie Kay; and hearing Jackie (pictured) read her work by torchlight. The lights were switched off to mark Earth Hour and it was wonderful to hear the words resonate out of darkness. Secondly, thanks are due to Rosemary Badcoe and Noel Williams at Antiphon for Noel’s long and considered review of ‘Only by Flying’ in Issue 17 (p31). And, last but not least, thank you to the webzine Snakeskin for publishing ‘Hatchling’ and ‘Something Any Mystic Knows’ in Issue 228.
