The Callum Macdonald Memorial Award 2016
I’m delighted to report that my publisher, HappenStance Press, has been shortlisted in the annual pamphlet poetry prize at the National Library of Scotland – and for ‘Only by Flying’. The award, established in 2001, was created by the Library in memory of the Scottish literary publisher Callum Macdonald MBE, and the winning publisher will be announced at an awards ceremony in Edinburgh on May 12th. The Callum Macdonald Memorial Award recognises ‘outstanding examples of pamphlet poetry publishing with a connection to Scotland or Scottish culture’. Many congratulations to Nell Nelson of HappenStance and to all the other shortlisted publishers/poets: Arc Publications/Tariq Latif; Hestan Isle Press/John Horn; The Shed Press/Jenny Elliott; and Wayleave Press/Elizabeth Burns (posthumously). There is more information about the award, which is supported by the Michael Marks Charitable Trust, here.
