Exeter Poetry Festival 2016

img_0301What a pleasure to read at Exeter Poetry Festival this month: not once, but twice. Firstly, alongside Ian Beech, Susan Taylor and Simon Williams at the City Gate Hotel, and secondly as one of the Mincinglake Poets, at Studio 36. The ‘Mincers’ present were Chris Banks, Fiona Benson, Annie Fisher, Damian Furniss, Ann Gray, Alasdair Paterson, Mark Totterdell, Anthony Wilson and myself, and Anthony has written a typically generous-hearted review on his blog. Sadly, I couldn’t get to many events but I did manage to hear Ben Banyard, Helen Boyles, Mab Jones, Bethany Pope and Simon Williams read at the hugely enjoyable Exeter gig of their Indigo Dreams tour. I couldn’t make the launch of The Broadsheet, which has just published my poem Risk Assessment, but I understand that was another splendid occasion. All in all, a busy poetry week: thank you, Exeter Poetry Festival! (Photograph: Jane Thomas.)
